Ronald Ray Houston, 65, of Belton passed away on August 2, 2024 at his residence.
Services will be held at 11:00a.m. on August 17th, 2024 at Heritage Country Church in Salado, Texas with Pastor Ricky Lindsey officiating. Visitation and meal to follow after services.
Ronald was born on September 30, 1958 in Temple, TX. to Melvin Ray and Julia Elizabeth Pace Houston. He attended school in Academy and Graduated from Salado High School in 1977.
Ronald married the love of his life Judy Fielder Houston of 43 years on April 11, 1981 at the Methodist Church in Little River. Ronald worked for TxDot for 33 years total he was 18 when he went to work there and 48 when he retired after 30 years of service and 3 years of accumulated vacation and sick leave. The next 4 years he worked off and on for Mike Tubbs Construction. In 2012 he went to work for Bell County Road & Bridge. He retired from there March 2024. During the last 14 years Ronald and Judy also worked the concerts for Johnny's Steaks and BBQ of Salado.
Ronald loved playing lottery and going gambling. Every Friday through Sunday he would go and get lottery tickets to play he had a budget and always stuck by it. He won more times than he lost. On Saturday mornings you could also find him at the feed store in Salado solving the world’s problems. Ronald loved his family and friends. He always saw the good in everyone. He never met a stranger. He was kind, loving and he was a great provider for his family always making sure they had what they needed. He will be missed by all.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Judy (Fielder) Houston ;one daughter, Michelle(Matthew) Hanks, one son, Nathan(Kristin) Houston; Brother, Peanut and wife Amanda Campbell, brother-n-law John and wife, Julie Fielder, brother-n-law James Fielder Sister-n-law Lanell Campbell. Grandchildren Brixley Houston, Addilee Harris, Jackson Harris; father and mother -n-law Neal & Ruby Fielder, Aunt Margie Pitts: Nephews’ Brian & Tuff & Bailey Nieces Nicole & Taylor; Numerous friends and cousins.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Houston mother, Julia Elizabeth Smith and his brother, Timothy Joe Houston.
Memorials may be made to the Heritage Country Church 9677 Lark Trail Salado, Texas 76571.
