Ronald HRYCENKO Obituary

Cheney - Ron Sr. passed away peacefully on March 31, 2023, surrounded by family. Ron Sr. was born June 30, 1938, to William and Irma Hrycenko. Ron Sr. graduated from Mead High School and then entered the United States Navy. After his service, he met and married Merlene. Together they raised their children, Rick and Ron Jr. Ron Sr. loved motorcycles and raced professionally. He won many awards during his racing years. In their retirement, Ron Sr. and Merlene moved to Williams Lake, which was always their dream. They enjoyed many years there together running the resort for a while, fishing, and spending fun times with family. Ron Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, William and Irma Hrycenko; sister, Yvonne; and his wife, Merlene. Ron Sr. is survived by his sons, Richard (Chris) and Ron Jr. (Malina); grandsons, Matthew and Brandon; granddaughter, Christina; nephew, Terry; niece, Debbie; and three great-grandchildren, Payden, Jasper, and Willow. There will be a private family gathering. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Hospice of Spokane.

I am/was so sad to hear of Ron's passing. He was a very kind and warm soul. His smile was infectious and reassuring. I will remember him as one of my favorites.
