Ronald W. Hug, age 86 of Mayville, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Ronald was born on May 2nd, 1938, in Addison Wisconsin to parents, John Hug Sr. and Magdalena (nee Hefter). He was united in marriage to his wife Gladys Nelson on May 2nd, 1959, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Neosho, WI.
Ronald worked as a cement mason for 45 years and was known for his strong work ethic. He enjoyed spending time with his loved family, snowmobiling, hunting, and always made sure to take good care of his lawn.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gladys Hug; children, Greg (Karen) Hug, Scott (Brenda) Hug, Lynn Beilke; grandchildren, Adam (Nikki) Hug, Melissa (Luke) Skic, Brent (Kim) Hug, Zach (Nicole) Hug, Derek (Taylor) Hug, John (Rebecca) Beilke, Jason (Shea) Beilke; great grandchildren, Ellie, Lucy, Regan, Macy, Chloe, Brody, Noah, Stella, Isabelle, Collin, Cora, Nolan, Lillian, Augustus, and Bowen; brother, Lawrence (Joyce) Hug; and siblings-in-law, Walter (Charlotte) Nelson, Dorothy Wiebelhaus, Ruth Carpenter, Helen Schaumberg, MaryAnn Nelson, and Lee Bailey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Magdalena; brothers, Eugene (Lorraine), Francis (Katie), Robert (Bernice), John (Ginny), Werner (Marie), Dennis, Jimmy, Leonard (Madeline) Hug; sisters, Ann Mueller, Lucille (Fred) Zimmel, Loretta (Werner) Strupp, Bernadine (Lawrence) Theusch, Betty (Harvey) Hoerig, Hattie (Fred) Gurtner, Melanie (Evertt) Becker, Darlene (Melvin) Beistle, and Grace (Vince) Lamers; parents-in-law, Christian and Malinda Nelson; siblings-in-law, Carol Bailey, Irene (John) Muras, Margaret Merwin, Jerry Wiebelhaus, Ruben Schaumberg, Arthur Nelson; son-in-law, Kurt Beilke; infant son, Jeff Hug, and great-granddaughter, Rory James.
In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Memorial Services for Ronald will be held on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church (148 W Lehman St., Neosho, WI 53059). Family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the start of Mass at 12:00 p.m. Inurnment will immediately follow at St. Bartholomew Cemetery in Neosho.
