Ronald E. Jankowski

Ronald E. Jankowski, age 89, of Erie passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025 at UPMC Hamot. He was born March 11, 1936 in Erie the son of the late Stanley and Helen (Klutz) Jankowski.

A lifelong Erie resident, Ronald had attended Gannon College and later served with the US Army. He was retired as a salesman with Roadway Express. Ron was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Nativity and also enjoyed the game of golf, having recorded a hole-in-one. His greatest joy was his family and following the activities of his nine grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Jankowski and a sister, Shirley Jankowski.

Ron is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Popoff) Jankowski and their children, Ronald J. Jankowski (Lisa), Cathleen Cancilla (Paul), and Jennifer Blake (Eric). Also surviving is a brother David Jankowski along with nine grandchildren and 1 great- granddaughter.

Friends are invited to call at the Russian Orthodox Church of the Nativity, 251 East Front St. on Sunday December 21, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm and are invited to attend Funeral Services there Monday at 9:00 am. Burial will be in St. John the Divine Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church’s Endowment Fund.
