Ronald D. Jarvis, 87, of Seymour passed away at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on Monday, November 4, 2024. He was born in Seymour on January 2, 1937, to the late Paul and Thelma (McClanahan) Jarvis.
Ronald served his country in the United States Navy. On March 16, 1963, he married Janet Ewing at the First Baptist Church, and they were married 54 years until her passing in 2017. Ronald was a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years, and in his later years attended Brownstown Church of Christ. He retired from Cummins after 30 years of service. After his retirement, he volunteered for the Provisions Food Pantry in Seymour.
He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Susan (Mark) Deaton; his son, Matt (Michelle) Jarvis; grandchildren, Harlan, Alison, Madison, Aaron, Jaden, and Ethan; and great grandchild, Levi.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet; and his parents, Paul and Thelma Jarvis.
Funeral services for Ronald will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour. Pastor Michael Hogg of Brownstown Church of Christ will officiate, with Pastor Larry Tingle presiding at the graveside. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Ronald will be laid to rest immediately following with military honors in Vallonia Cemetery on South County Road 310 in Vallonia.
