Doris Elaine Baurle, age 90, of Reddington, passed away on August 3, 2025.

Born on March 21, 1935 in Seymour, Doris was the daughter of the late Zona and Delmo (Welliver) Montgomery.

A proud 71-year active member of Phi Beta Psi - Theta Omega Chapter, Doris dedicated her life to friendship, service, and kindness. She was also one of the oldest living members of Reddington Christian Church. Her unspoken faith and love were central to her life.

Known for her warm heart and vibrant spirit, Doris found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching Days of Our Lives, feeding and watching the birds from her kitchen window, and keeping her mind busy with notes in the weekly newspapers-carefully circling the important tidbits before passing them along to friends and family. Her beautiful, careful handwriting was a point of pride, and she delighted in purchasing commemorative stamps to send cheerful cards to those she loved. She was a resourceful woman, repurposing many items others would throw away. Doris was an excellent cook, and her go to food for gatherings was baked beans and iced tea.

Doris had a cherished weekly routine: every Friday starting at 10:30 AM, her first stop would be a trip to the bank, where she religiously handed the teller a post it note with the exact increments of change she wanted for the week. After, at 11:00 AM, Doris would stop at Larrison's Diner to treat herself for lunch, followed by her 12:00 PM appointment at Accents Beauty Salon. Tuesdays were reserved for her treasured breakfast group with "the ladies," and Sundays were a time for church friends over a hearty lunch. She was also an enthusiastic participant in the Prime Timers group, enjoying their outings and fellowship.

Her presence was a source of comfort, laughter, and love to all who knew her. Doris will be remembered for her sharp wit and her daily 'Wordle' with her daughters that included her competitive trash-talking.

Doris is survived by her children, Dwayne Baurle (Marie), Darnell Dukes (Clifton), Deneen Lubker (Mark) and Deryk Baurle (Jill); grandchildren, Ryan Baurle (Amy), David Baurle (Catherine), Justin Baurle (Sarah), Erin White (Kory), Kristian Sitzman (Greg), Maci Lubker, Landen Lubker, Megan Dallam (Jack), Evan Baurle and Madalyn Baurle; 10 great-grandchildren; and many dear friends who will cherish her memory forever.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and late husband, Darrell Baurle.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation, 316 N Chestnut Street, Seymour. A second visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 10:00 A.M. until service time at Reddington Christian Church, 10516 US-31, Seymour, with Pastor Scott Brown and Pastor Dan Weaver officiating. Services honoring Doris's life and legacy will begin at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 13, 2025 with burial to follow at Reddington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Phi Beta Psi Sorority – Theta Omega Chapter, or to the Reddington Cemetery Association (Mowing Fund); reflecting her lifelong love of community and giving.

Doris embraced every day with grace and gratitude. Her life was a beautiful story of love, friendship, and faith-a story that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
