Ronald Keyes

Ronald M. Keyes, age 66, of Jackson, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
Ronald was born on January 28, 1959, in Jackson, Michigan, to the late Theodore "Pops" II and Jackie (McClellan) Keyes. He was also preceded in death by his beloved nephews, Chucky Hilliker and Teddy Keyes.
Ronald is survived by his children: daughters, Crystal (Jared) Taylor and Jennifer (Cortney) Connour; and son, Kyle (Mackenzie) Keyes. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his brothers, Theodore Keyes III, James (Edna) Keyes, Dennis Keyes, and Timothy Keyes; nephew, Timo (Sharon) Keyes; niece, Ashley (Matthew) Cassidy; the mothers of his children, Diane Keyes and Leda Colburn; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Ron's family has deep roots in the Jackson area, where they proudly owned and operated Keyes Party Store and Keyes Gas Station for many years. He was an active and faithful member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. Ron was known for his warm heart and willingness to help anyone in need, often opening his home and offering shelter and support without hesitation.
He was especially grateful for the Workit program, which played a meaningful role in helping him turn his life around and allowed him to provide encouragement and support to others facing similar challenges.
Honoring Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place. A service celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Roseland Memorial Gardens, 3744 Brooklyn Rd, Jackson, MI 49203.
