Ronald W. Kieper, age 84, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
Ron was born on December 6, 1940, to Walter and Nathalie (née Johnson) Kieper. On June 10, 1967, he married the love of his life, Lorna Nicolaus, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Slinger, Wisconsin. Together, they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage.
Throughout his life, Ron held many roles, including work in grounds maintenance and as a skilled welder, but the career he cherished most was his time as a truck driver with JD Laser Inc. He loved his children and grandchildren. He especially treasured receiving photos of Alaska from Tyler and Kelsey, going to breakfast and just driving with Steven and watching Kyle run cross-country and track.
Ron loved animals and found great joy in bird watching and spending time with his beloved pets, his cats, Jeff and Mama Kitty, and his dogs.
Ron is survived by his children, Kevin (Kay) Kieper and Kerrie (Rick) Rode; his grandchildren, Kyle Kieper, and Tyler (Kelsey) and Steven Rode; brother, Ken Kieper; and sisters-in-law, Cindy Mieszala and Ardena Nicolaus. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lorna; his parents, Walter and Nathalie; his parents-in-law, Walter and Anna Nicolaus; his brothers-in-law, Carl and Erwin Nicolaus; and his brother, Duane Kieper.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions in care of the family are sincerely appreciated.
A funeral service in celebration of Ron's life will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St., Hartford, WI 53027). The family will greet relatives and friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m., with Rev. Ben Golisch officiating.
