Obituary of Ronald W. Kotynski
January 23, 1953 - June 12, 2024
Ronald W. Kotynski. Age 71 of Woodhaven.
In loving memory of Ronald William Kotynski, beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend. Ronald passed away June 12, 2024, in Woodhaven, Michigan after 71 fulfilling years of life. He was a proud graduate of the University of Michigan and a dedicated employee of over three decades to the Ford Motor Company. As a child, Ron inherited a love of nature from his family and spent countless hours duck hunting, fishing, and exploring the outdoors. In early adulthood, this translated into becoming a lifetime member of Ducks Unlimited, taking hikes through the marsh, and providing shelters for homeless animals including his constant companions – cats Puff, Ruby, Larry, Ali, Duke, Jake, and Jodi. Ron also enjoyed searching for Native American artifacts and was credited with discovering several archaeological sites that were later named in his honor. His appreciation for nature and all things outdoors evolved into a passion for wildlife photography in his later life.
Recognized for his kindness and genuine care for others, Ron leaves behind several friends and family members who will miss him dearly. Ron is survived by his devoted wife of 16 years, Jeanette Kotynski. He is also survived by his brother Richard Alan Kotynski (Kimberly Ann Kotynski, née Tishler). Beloved father of Mary Catherine Kotynski (Kevin Michael Sheehan), Eric William Kotynski (Nedai Kotynski, née Zeidan), and Anne Elizabeth Kotynski Gooding (James Charles Thomas Kotynski Gooding). Adored stepfather of Brandon Bishop. Cherished grandfather of Emma Rose Sheehan, Oliver James Sheehan, Montaz Ibraham Kotynski, Elizabeth Catherine Kotynski, Emily Mya Kotynski, Rhys William Kotynski Gooding, and Kieron Jack Kotynski Gooding. Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Joseph Kotynski and Elizabeth Katalin Kotynski, his brother Henry Joseph Kotynski Jr. (Pamela Kotynski, née Bailey), his sister Patricia Ellen Kotynski, and his son Eric William Kotynski.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm at Molnar Funeral Home located at 23700 West Road Brownstown, Michigan. Family and friends are invited to share stories and memories of Ron at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ron's honor to the 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
