Ronald "Ron" Dean Krohn, son of William and Virginia (Nelson) Krohn was born on May 24, 1953, in Albion, NE. Ron was baptized into the Lutheran faith on June 28, 1953, at Zion Lutheran and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith on March 19, 1967. He attended and graduated from Albion High School with the class of 1971. Following graduation, he went to Colorado State University for a semester before returning home to farm.
On July 28, 1978, Ron was united in marriage to Nancee Sallach at Loretto Methodist Church. From this union they were blessed with three children. The couple lived and raised their children on the family farm southwest of Albion.
Ron was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church. He was a part of the Boone-Nance County Cattlemen's Association. Ron enjoyed the simple life that Nebraska had to offer. He loved Sunday road trips with his family, always sticking to the backroads and usually ending up at the Dairiette for a Pepsi freeze. He enjoyed taking his family to explore unique places in Nebraska, and he never missed a year at the Nebraska State Fair. In the summer, a big rain usually meant a spur-of-the-moment trip to the zoo in Omaha. He also planned cross country road trips to visit family, annual winter skiing trips to Keystone in Colorado, and traveling to the Black Hills. He took his family on a number of trips to Moline, IL to watch Krohn Farm equipment roll off the assembly line at the John Deere plant.
Although he liked to travel, he was most at home on the farm. Farming was more than just a job to him. He took great pride in his work and involved his family in many aspects of the farm. In more recent years, he also shared his love of the farm with his grandkids, teaching them to drive the gator or his truck to the shop, letting them help with chores, and enjoying pop break together. He loved spending time and making memories with his family.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 45 years: Nancee Krohn of Albion, NE; three children: Patti (Rob) Jensen of O'Neill, NE; Angie (Chris) Carder of Omaha, NE; Tom (Danielle) Krohn of Albion, NE; eight grandchildren: Will and Anna Jensen; Aubrey, Callie, Macy, and Bryn Carder; Eli and Emma Krohn; sister: Nancy (Terry) Ahlers of Albion, NE; brother: Charlie (Cheryl) Krohn of Albion, NE; brothers-in-law: Chuck (Kay) Sallach of Charlotte, NC; Pete (Connie) Sallach of Albion, NE; sister-in-law: Joan Sallach of Atlanta, GA; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Bob and Ardith Sallach; brothers-in-law: Scott Sallach and Toby Trout.
