Ronald “Pete” Labrecque, 84 of Newburyport, MA and Greenville, ME passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was born on June 26, 1941, in Lawrence, MA, and was the son of the late Juliette E. (St. Cyr) Labrecque and Arthur J. Labrecque. He grew up in South Lawrence, one of 12 children, and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1960. He married Carol (McMurrer) Labrecque in 1962, built a home in West Newbury, MA and raised three boys.
Pete was a proud member of IBEW Local 103 Boston and spent his career as a Master Electrician and Foreman for Manzi Electric, ultimately retiring from Penny Electric in 2000 after 35 years in the trade.
In 1982 he married Elizabeth “Betty” (Savage) Labrecque, and they spent 42 years as soul mates and best friends enjoying travel, the outdoors and time together.
His love of the outdoors lured him to Maine where his electrical buddies held their annual deer hunting trips. Eventually he and Betty built their home on Moosehead Lake in Greenville, ME, turning a small camp, they acquired in 1982 into a beautiful retirement home. Here countless memories with family and friends were born along with the cherished summer vacations spent with his three grandchildren.
His greatest joy was helping others, providing guidance and ensuring everything was running smoothly, as it should be. He loved being around people and was the go-to for many, the trusted advisor and loyal friend always willing to assist. He was humble, caring and immensely proud of his family and was fulfilled seeing his grandchildren thrive.
Pete is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his son Kenneth and his wife Monique, his son Peter and his wife Michelle, three stepsons; Robert, Thomas and James Savage, his three sisters Claire Blackwell, Frances Hastings and Jacqueline Fredette, his brother Paul Labrecque along with his beloved grandchildren; Zachary, Cameron and Alexandra Labrecque.
Pete was predeceased by his oldest son, Michael Labrecque, his sisters Loretta, Madeline, Georgette, Pauline, Marcelle and brothers Norman and Lionel.
