Ronald Dean Lang, born on July 5, 1954, to Richard and Betty (Betow) Lang in Albert Lea, MN, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 18, 2024, at the age of 69.

Ronald spent his early years in Glenville, MN before moving with his family to Albert Lea and later to a farm in rural Albert Lea. Ronald exemplified compassion and care throughout his life as a dedicated caregiver to his parents and maintaining the family farm

His towering stature of 6'8" earned him the nickname "Stretch," his unique ability to playfully tease by tapping a shoulder from afar, without detection, brought smiles to many faces.

Throughout his life, Ronald worked diligently in various businesses as a security officer in the community, eventually retiring from Larson Doors in Lake Mills, IA. His dedication and hard work ethic were truly admirable traits that defined him.

Ronald had a special place in his heart for his family, always going the extra mile to visit them and never missing a chance to attend family gatherings and holidays. His generosity shone brightest during Christmas, as he took joy in ensuring everyone received a gift from him.

An adventurous spirit, Ronald enjoyed embarking on road trips with no set destination, trusting the open road to guide him.  His love for fireworks was known far and wide, as he made it a yearly tradition to purchase them. He had a memorable orange Corvette that was easily recognizable to all who knew him. He was also known for making the best hot brandies that could chase away any cold.

Ronald was a kind and friendly individual who enjoyed engaging in lively conversations, although he was known to be opinionated at times. Despite his harmless grumbles, his warm heart and generosity endeared him to all who crossed his path.  He will forever hold a special place in our hearts as we honor his memory with gratitude and love.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Brandy Hughes; grandchildren, McKenna Hughes and Ryder Whelan; siblings, Sandra (Richard) Lestrud), Walter (Kim) Lang, Terry Lang, and Barb Bothum; along with four generations of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David and Bruce Lang; nieces and nephews, Tamera Praska, Michael Anderson, Christa Moffiet, and Joseph Roberts.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Bonnerup Funeral and Cremation Services in Albert Lea, MN with an hour visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea, MN.
