Ronald Dean "Squirrel" Larson Sr.

Ronald Dean "Squirrel" Larson, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home in Bayou Sorrel on October 25, 2022 at the age of 81. He was a retired operator with Shell for 30 plus years. Ronald was a humble man who loved his family and cherished his faith and was absolutely committed to both. He was the kind of person who drew people in and was known for always teasing or joking around with whoever was closest. Ronald loved the outdoors especially running his hunting dogs and crawfish traps. He was blessed with eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. They all brought him much joy and happiness and he was so proud of all of them. Ronald was born on August 25, 1941 on Bayou Chene to Herman "Shine" and Armead Carline Larson where he lived most of his childhood with his eleven siblings. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Coussou Larson; their four children and their spouses, Darla, Ronnie (Annemarie), Jody (Samantha), and Corey (Crystal) Larson; grandchildren, Allie, Lauren, Shynne, Madison, Brice, Daniel, Deshaye, Kaylee, Rayne, Remi, and Kimber Jo; great grandchild, Marley and Baby Girl Loper due in February; and siblings, Lila, Larry, Huey, Judy and Gary. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Roy, H.J. "Jay", Eldridge, Curtis, Velma and Alcion. A celebration of his life will be held at The Church of Addis on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 9am until religious services at 2pm, conducted by Pastor Tom Shepard. Entombment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Bun Allen, Jimmy Allen and Marvin Pierce. The family wishes to send special thanks to the nurses and staff at Comfort Care Hospice for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to your charity of choice.
