Rev. Ronald H. Laue

Rev. Ronald H. Laue, age 88, of Millcreek, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026. He was born in Fairmont, Minnesota on July 12, 1937 a son of the late Henry and Laura (Westphal) Laue.

Ron was baptized and confirmed at St Paul Lutheran church in Wilbert, MN. He attended Concordia Academy St Paul, MN for boarding High School and Junior College. He was a member of the first class of the Concordia Senior College, Ft Wayne, IN. He graduated with a Masters of Divinity from Concordia Seminary, St Louis, MO on May 31, 1963.

HIs first assignment was to start a mission church in Anchorage AK and serve as missionary-at large to the State. He served Zion Lutheran Church, Anchorage AK from 1963-78, Pilgrim Lutheran Church Bellevue ,WA 1978-89 and St Paul-St. John, Aberdeen SD 1989-2004.

Ron's greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his grandchildren's biggest cheerleader. A lifelong learner and avid sports fan especially of baseball, he was known for his incredible knowledge and love of the game. He had caught the attention of professional baseball scouts in his playing years. His favorite team was likely who had the best record that year.

He will be remembered for his strength, his resilience, and the steady faith that guided his life.

Ron is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol (Schneider) Laue, children, Sara Beilharz, husband Scott, Michael Laue, wife Lacey; grandchildren, Sophie, Stella, Sam and Sabrina Beilharz and Eleanor and William Laue; and a sister Shirley Lubenow, husband Wayne. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Norma and Tim Riggs, Carlos and Jan Schneider, Bette and Bill Shimkus, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to a service on Saturday, February 21st at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11 East 38th Street, at 11 am. Inurnment will be private in Laurel Hill Cemetery. The Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street is assisting with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran or the Erie City Mission.
