Charles Yahner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, LLP - West 38th St. on Feb. 27, 2026.
Charles M. "Chuck" Yahner, age 71, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in his home. He was born on September 30, 1954, in Johnstown, Pa., the son of the late Charles W. "Bud" and Shirley Yahner.

After graduation Chuck relocated south trading the mountains for the oceans of Florida. There he began to build a life working in law enforcement and started a family. Ultimately, Chuck was an entrepreneur at heart, taking pride in working for himself. Chuck took his love of fishing and turned it into a small family business. After decades of accomplishments Chuck returned to Pennsylvania, where he discovered his love for Lake Erie and made that his home. In his free time, he enjoyed his true lifelong passion of cooking for friends and family. Chuck lived loud, laughed hard, loved much, and had a personality that filled any room. Never having to guess where you stood-he delivered the truth with charm, humor, and a spark all of his own.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his two sisters, Cynthia Freund and Kelly Elaine Yahner.

Chuck is survived by his three daughters, Tifani Windsor, and husband Rodney Jr., of Punxsutawney, Heather Deprey, and husband Ross, of North Carolina, and Ashley Yahner, of Florida; his five grandchildren, Zak and Cody Windsor, Tabytha Deyarmin, Knight and Madison St. Victor; three great grandchildren; his nephew, Robby "Rob" Liming, wife Kayla, and their children, Will and Sydney held a special place in his heart. Rob was like a son to Chuck, a sidekick in his adventures. He is also survived by a niece, Danielle McMullen and family, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. At Chuck's request a private family memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to your favorite nonprofit organization. Brugger Funeral Homes, Erie, Pa., assisted with the arrangements.
