Command Sergeant Major Ronald E. LeBlanc, 75, of
Methuen, MA, passed away at his home on October 29, 2025. Born in Stoneham, MA, Ron was the beloved son of the late Earl and Audrey (Stone) LeBlanc.
Raised in Reading, MA, Ron graduated from Reading High School and later from Curry College.
A devoted patriot, Ron began his distinguished military career in 1971 when he joined the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Over the next four decades, he proudly served his country, rising to the rank of Command Sergeant Major. Throughout his exemplary service, he was entrusted with high-level missions, including security for General Galvin throughout Europe and deployments to Haiti, Bosnia, and Afghanistan. He was also a cherished mentor to countless young National Guard recruits who benefited from his leadership, wisdom, and compassion.
In 1983, Ron continued his lifelong commitment to service by joining the Wakefield Police Department, fulfilling his dream of serving his community. For more than 25 years, he protected and supported the people of Wakefield, mentoring younger officers and rising to the rank of Sergeant. He was also a dedicated and respected member of the NEMLEC SWAT and SOU teams.
Ron was able to accomplish his selfless dedication to community and country due to the love and support his wife Ginny provided through multiple deployments and years of dedicated service.
Ron was deeply devoted to his wife, family, friends and country.
Ron is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 40 years, Virginia (Key) LeBlanc; his daughter Holly McMahon and her husband Randy of Westford, MA; his son Michael LeBlanc of South Weymouth, MA; and his cherished grandchildren Faith and Alex McMahon and Kiley LeBlanc. He is also survived by his sisters June Hurley and her husband Paul of New Hampshire; Donna Doherty and her husband Kevin of Peabody, MA; his brothers Brian LeBlanc and his wife Donna of South Carolina, and Jeffrey LeBlanc of Saugus, MA; his brother-in-law Geoffrey Key and his wife Susan of Norfolk, MA; his sister-in-law Patricia Michalowskij and her husband Oleg of Maryland. Ron also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews who loved and admired their Uncle Ron. And last, but not least, his faithful Akita companions Kuma, Kenta, and Saki.
When not serving others, Ron was a lifelong Boston sports fan. He loved cheering on the Bruins and Red Sox. An avid skeet shooter, Ron was a proud member of many local sportsmen's clubs. He especially cherished his annual wedding anniversary trips to the Wayside Inn and time spent on annual vacations at York Beach with extended family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street,
Methuen, MA. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial with full military honors will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
