Ronald Lee Lerche, age 66, of Waverly, NY passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at home surrounded by his family and close friends.
He was born on June 25, 1958 in Endicott, NY the son of the late Ronald Frank Lerche and Anastacia Mary Pastrikos McGruder.
Ron graduated from Waverly High School in 1977 and then served in the United States Air Force from 1977 to 1981. Ron was a regular member of Sayre American Legion – Post 283 and volunteered for the American Legion events. He loved to garden, sit on his porch and watch the birds and to play shuffleboard. Ron enjoyed catering for his friends and family and loved spending time with his cats Nova and Diego.
He is predeceased by his mother, Stacia McGruder; father, Ronald F. Lerche; step-father, Henry McGruder; brother, Michael Lerche and brother-in-law, John Frisbie.
Ron is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cindy Frisbie Lerche; children, Joshua (Tracy) Lerche, Anna (Kenneth) Runyon and Christopher Lerche; grandchildren, Victoria Grimes, Brianna Runyon and Kendra Runyon; sister, Rosemary Lerche; brother-in-laws, Robert Frisbie and Eric (Sue) Perry; sister-in-laws, Bonnie (Joe) Manzari, Coreena (Jim) Stanton, Kellie (Greg) Ficarro, Kristi (Ron) Walker and Jen (Denny) Frisbie; also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to thank the nurses of Robert Packer Hospital, 5 Main, for excellent care they provided to him.
Family and friends received at Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 S. Main Street, Athens, PA on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm where military honor will be held at 12:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sayre American Legion - Post 283, 171 Cayuta Street, Sayre, PA 18840.
