RONALD KENNETH MAAS, age 57, of Mapleton, died on Friday, May 17, 2024, in rural Waseca County.
Born on June 7, 1966, in Waseca, he was the son of Kenneth and Lois (Erdman) Maas. He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Ron began his education at Trinity Lutheran School for eight years and graduated from Janesville Public Schools with the class of 1984. Ron was united in marriage to Lisa Stoneking and together had three daughters, they were later divorced. He worked for over 20 years at Viracon in Owatonna. He also worked as a farm hand and at Lowes. Ron was an avid hunter, which he thoroughly enjoyed with his nephews, Kris and Kenny. He always looked forward to meeting new people, entertaining and cooking for others. Above all else he cherished spending time with his daughters and grandchildren, helping them out any chance he could.
Ron is survived by his children, Jessica (Christopher Bartelt) Maas, Kristina Maas, and Heather (Rusty) Olson all of Waseca; grandchildren, Jaxon and Jaelyn Maas, Gabriella, Olive, and Junilda Maas, Ahvah, Aylah and Axton Olson; siblings, Linda Kent of St. Peter, Robert (Laura) Maas of Janesville, Richard (Anita) Maas of Waseca, Leann (Michael) Sutlief of Waseca; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and Linda Kent’s significant other, Clair Davis.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the State Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the Discipling Center at the church on Friday.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Interment will be at St. John – Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
