Ronald Edwin "Ron" Mayer

Ronald "Ron" Edwin Mayer, 66, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away on November 20, 2025, at University Hospitals Parma Medical Center.

Ron was born on March 21, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Carol Ann (Piskura) and Edwin J. Mayer. He graduated from Fairview High School in Fairview Park, Ohio, and dedicated most of his career to General Electric in the Graphic Communication Department at Nela Park in East Cleveland. He later retired from GE's Transportation Division in Erie, Pennsylvania.

On March 20, 2004, Ron married Tracy (Koester), the love of his life. He was the proud father of three daughters-Andrea (Tanner), Kristen Mayer, and Megan (Cabatingan)-from his former marriage to Donna (Cross) Mayer.

Ron was known for his joking sense of humor, his deep love for his grandchildren and dogs, and his strong political views. He embraced many hobbies throughout his life, including photography, Reiki healing and spiritual cleansing, metal detecting, camping, fishing, bird watching, iron forging, and, later in life, gardening.

Ron is survived by his wife, Tracy (Koester); daughters Andrea (Steven) Tanner, Kristen Mayer, and Megan (Jay) Cabatingan; and his grandchildren Marshall, Henry, and Collin Tanner; Leena Mayer; and Carlos and Camille Cabatingan. He is also survived by his sister, Deborah (Arthur) Shepherd; nieces Christine, Suzanne, and Erica; nephew Ben; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carol Ann (Piskura) and Edwin J. Mayer, as well as his grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 2:00–4:00 PM at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services,1500 Harpersfield Rd., Geneva, Ohio 44041 (440) 361-2273.
