Ronald D. Mentzer, age 76, of Cardington passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Woodside Village Nursing Home in Mount Gilead.
He was born on June 29, 1948, in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Clyde and Emma (Rice) Mentzer. Ronald was a 1966 graduate of Centerburg High School. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, woodworking and holding his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Ron was a veteran serving in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, of over 55 years, Elizabeth (Blankenship) Mentzer; his son Mark Mentzer; his daughters, Lori Mentzer, Nicki (Jason Gregg) Mentzer; nine grandchildren, Ashley (Scott) Smith, Keagan (Robyn) Mentzer, Casey Beck, Autumn Mentzer, Quinton (Emily) Beck, Garrett (Madison) Mentzer, Shandy Middleton, Travis (Mya Watson) Mentzer, Hunter Mentzer; 16 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; his brother Jake (Pam) Mentzer; and his sisters, Pauline Butler, Bonnie Noland, and Mary (Gary) Shrock.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his great grandson Briar Smith; his brother Roy Mentzer; and his sister-in-law Dulcena Mentzer.
Friends may call on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 2-3pm at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A service will follow, beginning at 3pm, with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
