Ronald Gene Miller, 76, of Plainfield, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette. He was born on January 12, 1949 in Lafayette to the late Donald Dean and Norma Mae (Hintzman) Miller.
After graduating from Frontier High School in Chalmers, Ron served his country in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Ron earned a degree from Porter Business College in Indianapolis, and spent 41 years as a Yard Master for CSX Railroad.
Ron was married to Andrea "Andy" Cowen on July 10, 1971 in Warsaw, Indiana, and she survives. He attended Living Christ Lutheran Church in Plainfield, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion. In his free-time, Ron enjoyed playing cards at family gatherings, performing yardwork, gardening, fishing, hunting, and anything else associated with the outdoors.
In addition to his wife, Andy Miller, Ron is survived by his daughters, Shannon (Aaron) Reid, and Jaime Miller; sisters, Donna Forester and Jeanette Wilson; and grandchildren, Hannah (Tristan) Lemon, Naomi Reid, and Nathan Reid.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence Miller and Richard Miller.
There will be a Celebration of Life service for Ron held at a later date.
