Ronald R. Moon went peacefully on to eternal life on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Symphony Tri-Cities, with family by his side. He was born on April 30, 1929, to the late Ralph and Esther (Kunkel) Moon in Saginaw, MI.
He was a loving husband for nearly 70 years to the late Rosemary J. (Cyr) Moon and a devoted father to 9 children: Martin (Donna) Moon, Jeanine Moon (deceased), Gerard (Carol) Moon, Steve (Jenni) Moon, Therese (Peggy Wilken) Moon, Peter (Sandy) Moon, Thomas (Susan) Moon, Mary Beth (Gary) Kaminski, and Andrew (Lori) Moon. He had over 100 grand, great grand, great great grand and great great great grandchildren. He had 2 siblings-Dennis and Norma (deceased).
Ron was a hard-working man, spending 44 years with General Motors, starting in an entry level position in the mail room, and ultimately becoming an executive level tax accountant for Central Foundry for many years. He was a long-time member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, being a member of the parish council and working beside his late father-in-law to help take care of the buildings and grounds there. He later attended First United Methodist Church. He was generous to all with his time, talent and treasure, including sponsoring mission trips to Haiti and other charitable causes. Ron was a jack of all trades, including wood-working, auto mechanics. He could tackle any household maintenance project. He enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks and in Michigan with his family. After retirement, he and Rosemary did lots of traveling in their motor home, taking cruises, and international trips. Ron and Rosemary also chose to express their exuberance for life through square dancing, which they did with gusto for several years. Ron sang from his earliest years as a child, regaling his parents' friends with his beautiful voice. He sang in the church choir for years. But most of all, he sang with Rosemary and the children-anytime/anywhere-in the car on road trips, hanging out at home, or while playing dominoes. Ron and Rosemary made beautiful harmony together, both in music and in life. The love and legacy Ron leaves behind will endure for many more generations to come. He was deeply loved and will be missed, until we sing together again in eternity.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan, Saginaw, MI 48602.
