Nancy Kathleen Beckert, born March 27, 1930 to Marjorie (Abbott) Mullin and John

13, 2025. They were married 74 years. She is survived by daughters Linda Beckert,
Sandy Whitley (m. Phillip), Anne Beckert, son Eric Beckert (m. Nancy) and sister Susan
Rosen. Her daughter Carol Beckert (m. David Apsey) pre-deceased her in 2015. She

Nancy graduated from high school in Sarnia, Ontario and went to Michigan State

1951. After raising 5 children, Nancy went back to college and graduated with honors
with a Bachelor's degree in History from Saginaw Valley State University.
Nancy worked for Saginaw Public Libraries well into her 80s. She loved her work and
was an avid reader and wrote many book reviews for the library. She was also a
volunteer at St Lukes Hospital, now Covenant Health. She was an active member of
Faith Lutheran Church, both with the alter guild and church choir.
Nancy always loved an adventure. Nancy and Bruce traveled to Scotland, Ireland,
Australia, New Zealand and England several times. They took several trips in the US
with Elder Hostel. Their love of hiking, nature and wildlife took them to Isle Royale
National Park every summer for over 50 years.
Nancy will be long remembered for her devotion to her family and kindness to her
friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nancy's honor may be made to Public Libraries of
Saginaw, 505 Janes Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607.
A memorial service is planned for both Bruce and Nancy Beckert on August 30, 2025
