Ronald Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rowe Funeral Home and Crematory - Grand Rapids on Feb. 10, 2026.
Ronald John Moore Sr., of Nashwauk, MN, passed away in his home surrounded by his loved ones on February 9, 2026.

Ron was born in 1955 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota to Donald and Irene Moore. He attended local schools across the Iron Range. After high school, Ron worked multiple jobs throughout the area.

Ron married Rosemary Gangl in 1975, and together they grew their family. In 1986 Ron moved to the cities where he started working as a drain cleaner. In 1987 he divorced Rosemary and in 1992 Ron met the love of his life, Lori Skelly, and the pair were together for 28 years, adding many more children to their family. In 2004 Ron and his son Ronnie opened their own sewer business in which he proudly ran for many years. Ron returned to the Iron Range in 2014.

He never really retired, as he was a hardworking man that enjoyed working and helping others. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, going to the casino, fishing, watching the Vikings play, going out visiting with family and friends, and going to all of his grandchildren's activities.

Ron was an honest, loyal, man with a great sense of humor, and valued his family over everything else. He will be greatly missed by many people.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and stepdaughter, Jillian Plaisted; and the love of his life, Lori. Ron is survived by his children; Marcie (Todd) Dobmeier, Angela Moore, Ronald (Tamira) Moore, Aimee Moore, Christina Moore, Josh (Brittany) Plaisted, Lyric Scott, grandson/son, Sarah (Que) Borders, Marie Skelly, Aaron (Heather) Skelly, sisters; Joyce (John), Carol (Wayne), Judy (Bude), Janet (Dave), Diane (Paul), Debbie (DJ); 37 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and numerous friends.

A visitation will be held at Zion Evangelical Church, Grand Rapids, on Monday, February 16, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM and lasting until the 11:00 AM funeral service.
