Ronald Wayne Moseley

Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Moseley or Coach Moseley passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, February 6, at the age of 79. He was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Moseley Sr. and Beatrice Eastwood Moseley. Ronnie grew up in South Hill, Virginia and was a student athlete and graduate of Park View High School. He went on to earn a degree in Psychology from East Tennessee State University and eventually a Masters in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. For 44 years, he taught Physical Education and Health at Colonial Heights Public Schools. He wore many hats while employed at CHPS, including 35 years as assistant football coach, 22 years as assistant basketball coach, 8 years as the head boys’ basketball coach, and many miles teaching driver’s education. His true passion was leading and mentoring young people as a coach which often extended beyond the playing field. As a father, he was endlessly devoted to his children Shannon, Travis, and Reid. He cherished every moment spent with them, coaching their teams, attending their games, helping with homework, family vacations, etc. He was a constant source of love, support, guidance, humor, and patience, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams and become the best versions of themselves. The values he instilled in them will continue to shape their lives for years to come. He is survived by his wife, Gwen Moseley; his daughter Shannon Lodge and husband Mark of Chesterfield, his son Travis Moseley and wife Sara of Chesterfield, and his son Reid Moseley and wife Kalene of Houston, TX; grandchildren Bryson Lodge, Cameron Lodge, Avery Lodge, Cate Moseley, Carson Moseley, Mateo Moseley, and Mia Moseley; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Edward Moseley and Andrew Jackson Moseley Jr. A special thank you to Crystal Andrews and family, and Florine Wheeler who provided Ronnie with the best care as he battled his disease. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Colonial Heights High School Auditorium 3600 Conduit Road Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Family will receive friends in the high school gymnasium after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Colonial Heights High School Athletic Department or Crater Community Hospice.
