Ronald “Pops” Allan Nelson, Sr. of St. Johnsbury, VT passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital with his loved ones by his side.

Ronald was born, attended schools, and lived his whole life in St. Johnsbury area. On December 1, 1947, he was one of thirteen children born to Robert and Lottie (Gochie) Nelson. He enjoyed attending car races and demo derbies, as well as watching wrestling. Ronald liked dancing and especially loved doing a polka. His cats were beloved companions. 

Those left to mourn include his four children: Traci Dean (Brian) of St. Johnsbury, Lottie Nelson (Gregory) of Lyndonville, Mary Doyon (Randy) of West Burke, and Ronald Jr (Tarena) of St. Johnsbury; a sister: Ruthie Woodard (Leonard) of Danville; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and eleven siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, 1-4PM at St. Johnsbury American Legion, 12 Maple Street, St. Johnsbury.
