Ronald Gene Oestmann, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home in Sparta, TN on November 3rd, 2025 at the age of 76 years.
Born on October 6th, 1949 in Chicago Heights, IL was the youngest son of the late Henry and Frances Oestmann.
Ron, as he was more often known by, lived in New Lenox, IL for 24 years with his loving wife, Debbie.
Ron and Debbie moved to Sparta, TN where they set new roots in 2000. Ron graduated from Bloom Township High School, Chicago Heights in 1967. He was a hard working husband and father. He retired from Ball Glass in Dolton, IL working as a mould maker for 32 years. He started another career at Federal-Mogul in Smithville, TN working as a press operator and machinist for another 19 years, retiring once more.
Ron enjoyed traveling with his wife. They camped and boated in many places throughout the United States but always came back to Tennessee where they eventually settled down. He felt at home when he spent time in the Great Smokey Mountains. Ron enjoyed wood-working as a hobby and loved designing and carving signs in his retirement. He loved hanging out and going out on vacation with his grandson, Matt. Ron also loved dogs and always had a canine companion by his side.
He is survived by his son Ronald, Jr., daughter Virginia, grandson Matthew, and his brothers William and Richard. Ron, was married to Debbie for 43 years before her death. Ron was a widower until his passing.
