SAINT AUGUSTINE, FL -Ronald "Ron" Ofiara, age 75, died peacefully on October 18, 2025 surrounded by his loving family, following a short but courageous battle with cancer. Ron will be remembered by his loved ones as a man who graced others with his intellect, witty sense of humor, and caring nature, making everyone he met feel welcome & appreciated. Above all, he will be remembered for being a devoted husband and father to his wife of 39 years, MaryBeth (Ward) Ofiara, and his daughter, Alexandra Leigh Ofiara of St. Augustine, as well as his cherished In-Laws, nieces & nephews from the West to East coasts of the US.

Ron was born on May 8, 1950 to Edward & Barbara Ofiara (Wojechowski) in Amsterdam, NY, (both predeceased) and was raised in Manhattan, NY by his Mother, where, as a child, he loved to horseback ride and play tennis in Central Park. He attended Columbia University and graduated from SUNY Empire State College, later earning his MBA from Houston Baptist University. He held long term professional positions with Digicon Geophysical, Texas Instruments, FedEx and Shred-It while living in Houston, Memphis, Atlanta & Fort Lauderdale with his family.

Beyond his professional life, Ron loved golfing, boating, volunteering at cultural events and socializing with family & friends. He traveled to many countries across the globe, both for work and pleasure and enjoyed experiencing new cultures, sharing good food and relaxing to his favorite jazz music.

After retirement, Ron was affectionately known as "Captain Ron," when he and MaryBeth enjoyed houseboating on Lake Lanier, GA & living aboard a Trawler for four years in various coastal ports from New Jersey to the Florida Keys. They landed in their forever home in St. Augustine, FL several years ago.
