Ronald Wayne Ott was born on November 21, 1942, and passed peacefully away on February 22, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Ron was born in Hallsville, Missouri to Roy Arnold Ott and Goldie Lucille Cook Ott. He graduated from Hallsville High School in 1960. After high school, he pursued a career in printing and graphic design. He started his career in Greeley, Colorado then returned to Missouri and worked at American Press, and retired from the University Printing Service.
Ron married Sharon Marie Messick on June 6, 1965, in Hallsville where they resided throughout their 59-year marriage. Ron served his country in the Army Reserves. He was also active in local organizations including the Jaycees, Lion's Club, and the Optimist. And represented his community as an elected alderman and school board member. Ron belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held the position of High Priest in the Elders Quorum.
Some of Ron's favorite activities were traveling, especially to Alaska and Canada. Closer to home he enjoyed fishing and hunting with friends, watching his children and grandchildren play sports, working in his shop, playing games, and especially spending time with his family.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister, Glenda Ott Moore. He is survived by his wife Sharon, and his two daughters, Angela Ott Hubble and her husband Doug Hubble of Kaysville, UT, and Dawn Ott of Hallsville. Five grandchildren, Shelby Hubble Nelson and her husband Brach of Ogden, UT, Criag Hubble and his wife Kristen of Ogden, UT, Chase Ott Crane of Columbia, MO, Harding Ott Crane of Fulton, MO, and Joscelyn Ott Crane of Hallsville. Four great-grandchildren, Remington, Riggs, Banx Nelson, and Lainey Hubble. An uncle, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephew, and numerous cousins.
Services for Ron will be held on February 28th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 904 Old Highway 63 South, Columbia. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a memorial service following immediately after. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ron's name to the Boone Hospital Foundation.
