Ronald ''Ron'' A. Paul, 89 of Zanesville, died 10:15 PM, Friday, October 7, 2022, at Genesis Hospital. He was born Tuesday, July 11, 1933, in Zanesville, the son of Fredrick R. Paul and Charlotte B. (Armbrust) Paul. He married Patricia "Pat" A. (Ryan) Paul on Saturday, June 6, 1953, who preceded him in death on Sunday, February 28, 2010.
Ron was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. He retired in 1992, following 42 years of service as a Service Tech for Ameritech. He was a graduate of Rosecrans High School Class of 1951, a member of the K of C #505, Fraternal Order of Eagles #302 and Telephone Pioneers of America. Ron was one of a kind; the myth, the man, the legend. He was great husband, father and grandfather who cared deeply for his family. He was always there for anyone who needed him.
Ron is survived by three daughters, Melany Paul and Karen Haren both of Zanesville, Cathy (Mark) Clark of Dresden; two sons: Robert ''Bob'' (Stephanie) Paul and Ronald ''Ronnie'' (Tami) Paul both of Zanesville; eight grandchildren: Burton (Mindy) Haren, Lauren (Travis) Adair, Courtney (Josh) Durbin, Kaleigh (Rob) Matesick, Kelli Paul, Emily (Jay) Gray, Jordan Paul, and Allison Capunay; great grandchildren, Kayden, Kenley, and Colton Haren, Gavin and Josie Adair, Graham Matesick, Scarlett, Ethan and Georgia Gray and his faithful pet companion, Sky.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Pat; a daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Paul-Johnson, and one brother, Bernard J. Paul.
Friends may call 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, October 10, 2022, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a Christian Vigil will be held at 7:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Martin J. Ralko as celebrant.
