Ron graduated from Cleveland Heights High School. He attended Purdue University and Northwestern University on a football scholarship. While there, he was a member of Phi Delta Theta. Ron was both a Marine and a Navy pilot, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant. As a helicopter pilot, he served a tour of duty in the Korean War, bringing wounded soldiers to hospitals or hospital ships.
Being a person of faith, integrity and honesty, he and his business partner, Ralph Criswell, found the insurance field to be a place where the desire to help others could be fulfilled. Having founded the business in 1957, Ron has been blessed with many distinguished honors. He was a member of Parkside Church, The Country Club, the Union Club and Sandridge Golf Club.
The family would like to thank the dedicated people of Cleveland Clinic Hospice. Their love and care was exceptional.
A celebration of Ron's beautiful life will be held Tuesday October 17, 2023, at 11AM at Parkside Church, 7100 Pettibone Rd Chagrin Falls, OH 44023. Following the service, there will be a reception where the family will look forward to greeting their cherished friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Truth For Life, P.O. Box 398000, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023.
