Ronald Leroy Reed, known to many as Ronnie, was born on November 3, 1954, in Hominy, Oklahoma, to Leroy and Shirley Reed. Growing up in Hominy alongside his three brothers and two sisters, Ronnie’s life was rooted in the joy and camaraderie of small-town life. He attended the Hominy School District from kindergarten through high school, where he built lasting friendships and memories
After school, Ronnie found his calling in the oilfield, working as a driller—a job that fit his hardworking nature and love for the outdoors.
It was in Hominy where Ronnie met Rosemary, and the two were married in Miami, Oklahoma, on October 9, 1990. Over the next 34 years, they shared a life with friends and family, enjoying road trips to places like Las Vegas and Florida, and spending cherished moments at their lake lot, soaking in the simple joys of life together.
Ronnie had a deep love for his community, evident in his years of coaching little league baseball and umpiring games in Hominy. He also shared his love of the outdoors with his granddaughter Regan, especially during their fishing trips. Whether he was hunting, riding his motorcycle, or simply making beef jerky at home, Ronnie found great pleasure in the activities he loved.
Ronnie also had a deep appreciation for classic rock. His favorite bands—AC/DC, KISS, Aerosmith, and ZZ Top—were on heavy rotation. At home, you might have found him carefully curating his knife collection or sharing his endless supply of funny stories and playful jokes with those around him.
Above all, Ronnie’s greatest love was for his family and friends. He brought laughter and engaging conversation wherever he went, and his presence will be deeply missed.
