Seminole, OK resident Ronald Thomas Richardson, Sr. passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at his home at the age of 83. Ronald was born on October 13, 1942 in Seminole to Tommie B. and Billie Marie (Crawford) Richardson. He was a 1960 graduate of Varnum High School. He proudly served as an airman medic in the United States Air Force at Gunter AFB in Alabama. Ronald married the love of his life, Tommie Ann Coker on June 18, 1966 at Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa, OK. Ronald was an entrepreneur owning and operating Richardson Custom Built Homes, Richardson Farms, Toro Casing Service, RT Energy and Limestone, Rock, Gravel and Sand LLC.
Ronald enjoyed horse racing, training horses, running cattle, fishing with his family and chasing grandkids around. His favorite tv show was The Young and The Restless and he loved watching with his beautiful wife. In the 1960’s Ronald also built Hot Rod car engines and street raced late at night in his 1934 Ford Coupe with a 327 small block Chevy engine. He had the fastest car around in 1966. Ronald was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association since 1970.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 59 3/4 years, Tommie Richardson; son, Ronald T. Richardson Jr.; daughter, Tanya Ann Richardson; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jane Reed (Richardson) and Gerald Reed; three grandchildren, “Trey” Ronald T. Richardson III and Desirae, Tyler B. Richardson and Briana, Tanner S. Richardson and Carli; six great grandchildren, Karson, Remington, Swade, Karter, Kyler, and Kinsley Richardson and many other family and friends.
Ronald was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pearl and Ernest Crawford; parents, Tommie and Billie Richardson; nephew, Jeffrey Heath Reed; great nephew, Logan Chance May; cousins, Pete Amos and Vic Richardson and several aunts and uncles,
Those serving as casket bearers will be Wayne May, Russell Amos, George Long, Trey Richardson, Tyler Richardson and Tanner Richardson. Honorary casket bearers will be Ronald T. Richardson Jr., Randy Crawford, Dana Harris and Dale Cheatwood.
Viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 and from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
Funeral services will be held 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Seminole Church of Christ, 12040 N. Hwy 99 in Seminole, OK. Rev. Willie Williams will be officiating with the assistance of Randy Crawford, Kevin Hardeman and Nathan Cross. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.
