"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7
We would like to pay tribute to the memory of Mr. Ronald Ray Robertson, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his grandchildren and kept them dear to his heart, as he would say they all are his pride and joy.
Ray began his life on Sunday, May 31, 1953 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. He was born to the late Lois J Robertson and Dolly Robertson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Otelia Scott and his brothers William Robertson and Chandler Jones.
Ray, as called by so many, found and accepted Christ at a young age, as he would tell others he didn't have a choice because his father was a Reverend and he knew the Bible from back to front. He would often encourage others and would tell them to trust the Lord and that he would work it out. He held membership at Manifest Ministries INC under the leadership of his favorite Pastor as he would call her his daughter Pastor Caresa Robertson.
Mr. Robertson was a joy to be around and everyone that encountered him knew that he was a joker and loved to make people laugh. He had a heart of gold and would try to do anything for everyone that he encountered even with the fear of not saying he couldn't to make others happy. He held many professions throughout his life from cleaning pools, driving trucks, working in the prisons, fast food, but his all-time favorite was body work and painting. He loved to look on YouTube at different animal channels, listening to music, watching westerns, karate movies, playing cards and being around family.
Early Thursday morning August 22, 2024 with his wife and daughter by his side at home, Mr. Robertson quietly transitioned from labor to reward. He fought this battle from 2020 until he was called home with faith that God will heal him. He was totally healed with no more pain and a new set of lungs. Shall his legacy of strength, love, determination and never giving up live in the life of all those that knew him.
Cherished memories of his life will remain in the hearts of his devoted wife Eva Robertson, his children Caresa Robertson Carter (William), Christopher Robertson and Carlos Robertson (Nichole). His grandchildren Rah'Kwez (A'Zhane), Ty'Vontay, Sunshyne, Braylen, Vala, Razmik, Quan'Tay, Raji, Cairo, Zacari, Cylas and his three great granddaughters Mia, Raevyn and Reign. His sisters Rosa Chandler (Douglas) and Doresa Jones and his brothers Joseph Robertson and John Robertson. His sister-in-laws Mary Payne (Edde), Patrice Jones, Mary Robertson and his brother in laws William Jones and Jethro Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
It is the desire of the Robertson family that you keep them in your thoughts in prayers.
The family of Mr. Ronald Robertson has entrusted his final care to C. C. Carter Funeral Home.
