Ronald K. Shape, 89, passed away on January 20, 2025. Born on October 7, 1935 to Frank and Ruth (Steinmetz) Shape, he attended Glover Grade School and graduated from Hower High Vocational School in 1955, majoring in drafting. After high school Ron worked for various companies while taking additional courses. He began working at General Tire in 1959 in the Engineering Department. While working there he had the opportunity to travel the world. After 34 years when the company was sold and he didn't want to relocate he took an early retirement. Not one to sit still, two days later Ron went to work for M.H.I.A., where he remained for 6.5 years. After that he continued to work part time until he finally retired at the age of 74.
Ron enjoyed working and staying busy, playing euchre at the Jednota Club, trips to the casino and reading anything he could get his hands on. When he was younger he enjoyed traveling, camping and bowling.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Arlene; brothers Kenneth, Jack and William; canine companion, Ranger. He will be sadly missed by his children, Michael (Deanna) Shape, Mitchell (Laura) Shape, Pamela (Ronald) Davis and Victoria (Louis) Mayer; grandchildren, Gary and Justin Ward, Alexa Lehar, Vincent, Joseph and Jenna Shape; 6 great grandchildren, sister, Debbie Shape; nephew, Terry Shape.
The family will have a private service before Ron will be laid to rest with his late wife Arlene at Glendale Cemetery.
