Ronald O. Shaw, 85, Whiting, NJ, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025. Ronald was born in Bayonne, NJ on January 23, 1940 to his parents James and Veronica (MacKinnon) Shaw.
Ronald honorably served in the United States Navy before working for the Keyport and Lakewood U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years. Ronald had a lively social life. He was a member of the Matawan Elks where he previously served as Exalted Ruler before moving to Whiting and joining the Toms River Elks. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve, the Lions Club and a variety of social clubs and activities, making many friends with his warm and outgoing personality. He was a diehard fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, loved music, food and most of all, spending time with his family. Ronald is preceded in death by his wife Carolann in 2005, his parents, brothers James and Jack, and son-in-law, Michael Shave.
Surviving are his children Joseph, Robert and wife Denise, Kerri Shave, Jackie and partner Patrick Sullivan, Courtney and Michael Eidel, and his grandchildren, Jamie, Nicole, Samantha, Morgan, Robert, Michael and Ethan, and his large extended family of beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 4:00pm–8:00pm at the Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 66 Lacey Road, Manchester, NJ. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 10:00am. Entombment will follow immediately after at Whiting Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to the Wounded Warrior's Project in Ronald's memory.
