Ronald Sheehan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lyons Funeral Home on Nov. 7, 2023.
Ronald Francis "Ron" Sheehan, 85, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2023. Born in Salem on April 11, 1938, to the late John and Mary Sheehan, Ron was a dedicated worker who loved and knew his family well.
Ron's career as a test technician was marked by loyalty and commitment to excellence. He contributed over four decades of his life to working at Raytheon where he proudly worked on the Patriot Missile System. He received the Zero Defect award which honored his outstanding ability to achieve 100% accuracy in his work. He always had a strong aptitude for computers and technology which served him well through-out his life.
In his retirement, Ron engaged in many hobbies showing a desire to try new things. He became skilled in wood carving and archery. He joined bowling and golfing leagues. He also took part in the simple pleasure of walking and biking. He travelled and especially enjoyed his time in Cape Cod and in Florida at the Villages. He enjoyed being part of his children's growing families. He kept up with all the family members' lives, especially those of his grand and great grandchildren, always remembering what was important to them or what milestones they had achieved.
He leaves his children, Laurie Drenning and her spouse Douglas of Lexington, SC, and Kathleen Martin and her spouse Richard of Danvers. He also leaves his dearest friend of 23 years, Andrea Thompson. He was grandfather of Philip Powers Jr. and his spouse Zoe, Britney Martin and her spouse Victor, Kevin Powers, Nicole Vessal and her spouse Jordan, and Jessica Madsen with spouse Brendan, and great-grandfather to Damon Martin, Jacqueline Martin, Grayson Madsen, and Nya Vessal.
Ron was pre-deceased by his brother, John "Mickey" Sheehan.
