Rehoboth – Ronald G. Smiley, Sr., 92, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Harold E. and Blanche O. (Goodwin) Smiley.
Ron was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War and went on to a career as a program manager at Raytheon for many years until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Rehoboth Lions Club, he enjoyed traveling, helping others and spending time with his family and dear friends.
Ron leaves five children, Ronald G. Smiley, Jr. and his wife, Lori, of Richmond, VA, Dennis Smiley and his wife, Diane, of Loudon, TN, Barry Smiley of Cumberland, RI, Philip Smiley and his wife, Ann, of Pawtucket, RI and Particia Ann Machado and her husband, Marc, of Loudon, TN; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Harold B. Smiley, June Alix, and Philip Smiley.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Services on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by interment with Military Honors at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. VISITATION will be held on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriner's Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438 would be appreciated. Online condolences welcomed at www.trippfuneralhome.com.
