Ronald L. Smith, 76, of Waverly, NY, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on March 26, 1949, in Sayre, PA, the son of the late Henry L. and Doris E. (Harding) Smith.
Ronald was an Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 46 years, Valerie J. (Rose) Smith, daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Kyle Cole of Waverly, NY, daughter, Kimberly Smith of Waverly, NY, and his grandchildren, Kyla Cole and Reid Smith. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, John and Cathy Smith, brother, Jim Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
Following Ronald's wishes there will be no services. The family is being cared for by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. The family wishes to thank Dr. Karen Gorenflo and the entire staff of the VA Clinic for the wonderful care provided to Ronald.
Burial will be private in the Chemung Cemetery, Chemung, NY.
