Ronald Snyder Obituary

Published by Legacy on Apr. 9, 2025.
Ronald "Ron" Snyder passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Snyder; his mother, Marie (Morrissette) Snyder; and his sister, Ginger (Snyder) Leavell. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Kathy; his children, Sherri, Steve (Ginny), and Mike (Natasha); and his cherished granddaughters, Kailee, Lia, Avery, and Emma. He also leaves behind his loyal four-legged companion, Pete.
Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and a steadfast friend to many. He was born and raised on the East Side of Saint Paul, proudly graduating from Johnson High School before serving in the United States Air Force. His "East Side" roots and military service were lifelong sources of pride.
After his service, Ron continued giving back to his community. He volunteered for eight years with the Monday Rifle Squad at Fort Snelling, honoring fellow veterans with dignity and respect. In Woodbury, where he made his home, Ron played a foundational role in the city's athletic programs as one of the original founders of the Woodbury Athletic Association. His community involvement touched countless lives.
Ron never met a stranger-he had an incredible memory for faces and a gift for conversation. Whether at the grocery store, a ball game, or simply walking the dog, he was always ready to strike up a friendly chat.
Above all, Ron treasured his family. His four granddaughters were his pride and joy. He attended every event he could, offering hugs, encouragement, and enthusiastic cheers. He was their biggest fan, and he never missed a chance to tell them how proud he was.
A lifelong dog lover, Ron had a special way with animals-his family fondly called him "the dog whisperer."
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the countless lives he touched simply by being himself.
Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Tuesday, April 15th at 10:30AM with an hour visitation prior at the Church of St. Pascals Baylon (1775 Conway St. St. Paul, MN 55106) Memorial preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
