Ron was born In Ada, MN on November 23, 1941, to Clarence and Lillian (Gilbertson) Sorenson, and raised on their farm near Hendrum, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hendrum and graduated from Hendrum High School in 1959.  Ron enlisted in the Air National Guard where he worked as a Radar Technician, traveling extensively to teach others, and was a proud member of the Happy Hooligan’s.  He was honorably discharged in 1977 after serving 17 years.  Ron also worked for several years at General Nutrition in Fargo.

On July 11, 1998, Ron was united in marriage to Rose Muchow at Dilworth Lutheran Church, and they made their home in Fargo.
