With heavy hearts and joyful memories, we announce the passing of Ronald Kay Stepp, a beloved husband, father, and friend, on July 15, 2025, at the age of 81. Born in Springfield, MO, on June 2, 1944, Ronald was a true Southern Missouri native who embraced life with an infectious spirit and a generous heart.
Ron was best known as a dedicated spice mill operator at Frenches for 37 years, where he spent countless hours working with his hands. His true passion, however, lay in building and repairing; whether it was fixing up old cars or tending to projects around the home, Ron viewed every task as an opportunity to create something beautiful.
An avid fisherman, Ron found his happy place at Pomme de Terre Lake, where he enjoyed the serenity of the water and the camaraderie of his "lake family." Many a day was spent casting lines and sharing stories, with a fishing pole in hand and a smile on his face.
He was preceded in death by his parents Doris Stepp and Aileen (Ray) Reid, sister Sheila Skidmore and two brothers Phillip and Bill Stepp.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Stepp, and their four sons and their spouses, Tim and Tracy, Jody and Shelly, Dwayne and Danielle, and Jeff and Robin Stepp; his grandchildren: Samantha, T.J., Todd. Shawna, and Zack; six great-grandchildren; three brothers Ellis Stepp, Tommy Reid, and Terry Reid, three sisters Connie Baldwin, Brenda Batz, and Linda Mitchell; and his lake friends and family. He leaves behind an enduring legacy of love, kindness, and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew him.
In celebration of his life, we invite friends and family to join us for visitation at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on July 18, 2025, at 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held the following day, July 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM, also at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will take place immediately following at Bass Chapel Cemetery in Strafford.
As we gather to honor Ron, let us remember his generous spirit, his infectious laughter, and the warmth he brought to our lives. Let's share our favorite stories, reminisce about the good times, and celebrate the remarkable life of Ron Kay Stepp.
