Ronald "Ron" M. Tatum, 84, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 in Carthage, Missouri. Ron was born February 19, 1937 in Carthage, Missouri to Edward C. Tatum and Elsie Lown. He was a lifetime resident of Carthage, Missouri. Ron started work at an early age with C.T. Whitsel and had spent 40 years at Tatum Auto Repair. He enjoyed farming and gardening. Ron was a member of LifeChurch in Carthage, Missouri.
Ron was united in marriage to Lillie Thorn October 16, 1955 in Carthage, Missouri; she survives.
Ron is survived by his wife, Lillie Tatum; two sons, Ronald Calvin Tatum and wife, Doris, of Carthage, Missouri and Donald M. Tatum of Carthage, Missouri; one daughter, Verla Crahan and husband, Jackie, of Carthage, Missouri; eight brothers, Robert Tatum of Oklahoma, Rollie Tatum of Wyoming, Randy Tatum of Missouri, Ralph Tatum of Texas, Rex Tatum of Oklahoma, Rodney Tatum of Missouri, Ray Tatum of Kansas, and Ricky Tatum of Missouri; one sister, Linda Adams of Missouri; five grandkids, Tara, Tommy, Ryan, Riley and Holly; thirteen great grandkids; and three great-great grandkids.
Ron is preceded in death one daughter, Vera Jo Bounous; his parents, Edward and Elsie Tatum; two brothers, Richard Tatum and Royce Tatum; and four sisters, LaVera Goodnight, Ilene Tatum, Lavon Vonier and Jane Lawrence.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2022 at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel, Carthage, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Jasper School Cemetery in Reeds, Missouri.
Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Carthage Humane Society or LifeChurch Building fund in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
