Ronald C. Valenta, 64, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

Ron was born June 24, 1961, the son of Mary Ethel and Frank Valenta. Ron attended Regis High School and then the University of Iowa. He married Renee Recker on 7/7/2007 at their cabin on Lake Delhi.

Ron is survived by his wife Renee; sons Calvin Valenta and Mitchell Valenta; stepson Trenton Recker; brother Thomas (Brenda) and extended family.

He was preceded in death by brother Jim and his parents.

Together with his brothers and nephew, Zak, they own and operate Valenta Plumbing.

Ron and Renee loved spending time at their home in Lake of the Ozarks and traveling to KC Chiefs games. Ron loved to golf, go deer hunting, and fishing.

Ron loved his family and making people laugh. He will be greatly missed.

A funeral service celebrating Ron's life will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Celebrant Randy Walton officiating. Burial will take place in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom.

Memorials may be given in his name to Camp Courageous.
