Ronald James Walker, 75, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed peacefully on August 20, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 11, 1947, at the family farm in Evans, Missouri to Lowell Tipton Walker and Clella (Loftin) Walker. The family moved to Kansas City in 1955. Following graduation from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Ronald attended electronics school and earned certificates in various courses.
Ronald was united in marriage to Reba Ann (Heath) Walker and they spent 47 happy years together before her death in 2020. Ronald and Reba were blessed with one son and four beautiful granddaughters.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Ann Walker of Kansas City, Missouri and parents, Lowell Tipton Walker, and Clella (Loftin) Walker of Ava, Missouri.
Ronald is survived by his son, Michael Walker (Amber), four granddaughters, Ashlyn Walker, Hadleigh Walker, Bria Walker and Jolie Walker of Liberty, MO. He is also survived by his sister, Viola Payne of Raymore, Missouri and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Ronald was a good provider for his family. Prior to retiring, he was a mechanic at Corn Products Company and National Starch and Chemical Company for his entire working career.
Ronald loved his four granddaughters and found great joy in watching them play and being involved in various activities. They always brought a smile to his face when they were around. One of his other loves was dogs. He seemed to be drawn to them wherever he saw them, and always loved each of his own dogs dearly. He also had a love for anything electronic or anything with moving parts. He built his own computers, had a TV repair business in his earlier years, fixed his own vehicles when needed, and collected a houseful of lawnmowers and tillers that he would tinker with. He was also interested in woodworking, guns, and hunting. In his free time, Ronald would be found watching old westerns on TV.
Ronald's memorial service will be on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a service celebrating his life at 2:00 PM, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 1600 N. State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Burial in Glenridge Cemetery, Liberty, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to KC Pet Project (KCPetProject.com).
