Ronald Joseph Walker, Sr.

Ronnie was an outgoing, loving, and hard-working man. Ronnie retired from Barriere Construction after twenty-five years of service, at the time of his retirement he served as a road construction foreman. Following retirement, he discovered his passion for singing karaoke. He enjoyed performing for others at weddings and other events as the owner of R-Dub Productions. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved classic cars. Ronnie brought joy and entertainment to all he encountered. People gravitated to his personality and zest for life. He never met a stranger, instead he was able to create a long list of lasting friendships. Ronnie will be missed by every life he touched. He leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and friendships that will serve as an inspiration for his family.
Ronnie was born in Houma, LA, but moved to Belle Chasse, where he lived most of his life. After Hurricane Katrina, he moved to Euless, TX, where he spent the remainder of his life. Ronnie passed away at the age of 78 and was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Joseph Walker and Beulah Falgout Walker, his brother Russell Chauvin, and his loving wife Brenda Walker. He is survived by his six children: Ronnie Jr., Stephen, DeeDee, Dana, David, Barry, and their spouses, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
The family invites you to join them as they celebrate Ronnie’s life. A memorial service is scheduled between 9-11:30 AM, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Mothe Funeral Home on the West Bank Expressway. A short prayer and vigil will begin at 11:30 before Ronnie begins his final ride to West Lawn Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital for cancer research.
