WEEKLEY, Ronald Raymon -age 80, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024 at Kettering Medical Center Main Campus Emergency Department as a result of long-term kidney disease and stage-five renal failure.
Ron was born on April 11, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio to parents Elwin P. Weekley and H. Inez Robinette-Weekley. He grew up in West Carrollton and graduated from West Carrollton High School in 1961. He received a degree in Engineering from Sinclair Community College.
Ron was very proud of his Air Force Reserve service where he served as an A1C Airman. He served stateside during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1970. Ron spent his career at National Cash Register working with computer system installations and maintenance, as well as employment with Universal 1 Credit Union and PCM-G. After retirement, he enjoyed part-time employment with Burg PC Doctor and Home Depot.
Ron's passions included dragster driving, aquariums and breeding tropical fish, boating, waterskiing, camping, tournament fishing, and anything related to fast cars, big motors, and greasy wrenches.
Ron was proceeded in death by his only child, son Ronald H. Weekley, in 2012. Ron never stopped grieving his son's early death. Left to mourn his loss is his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Walther-Weekley. The absolute pride and joy of his life was his granddaughters, Paige Weekley-Roberts and Payton Weekley-Roberts. His brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Bev Weekley, and his sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Ralph Newkold will remember their brother with love. A host of nieces and nephews will miss their Uncle Ron terribly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Schlientz & Moore Funeral Home, 1632 Wayne Avenue, Dayton, OH 45410 from 10 am to 12 pm. The funeral and interment will be held at 1 pm at Woodland Mausoleum, 118 Woodland Avenue, Dayton, OH 45409. A funeral meal for family and friends will, be provided by the Weekley's church, Saint James Methodist Church, 401 Carlwood Drive, Miamisburg, Ohio 45342, following the interment.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to Saint James Methodist Church.
