Ronald W. Wenninger, 89 of Galion passed away on Wednesday February 5, 2025 at Millcreek in Galion following a brief illness. Ronald was born August 17, 1935 in Bucyrus to the late Gustave Albert Wenninger Sr. and Lena (Dexter) Wenninger. He was also preceded in death by his wife Bertha Ann (Fetter) Wenninger on September 23, 2005; son James William Wenninger; sisters Rosie Lehman and Eleanor Beck; and brothers Gustave “Gus” Wenninger Jr. and Darrell Wenninger.
Ron is survived by children Ronald Wenninger Jr. (Donna) of Tiro, Rick (Shirley) Wenninger of Port Clinton, Terry (Anita) Wenninger of New Washington, Diana and special friend Randy Toth of Crestline, and Darla (Leonard) Phillips of Tiro; 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren and 1 expected; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1953 and served in the National Guard for 6 years and 2 additional years in the reserve. He retired in 1983 from Timken and moved to Tennessee for 14 years, moving back to this area in 2006. Ron was active with his children in Little League baseball for several years during the 1960’s and involved with the Bucyrus Athletic Boosters during the late 60’s. He enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, and farming.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1:30 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Tanyce Addison officiating and burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:30 am until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Diabetes Foundation through the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
