Robert “Bob” Wenninger – He lived modestly, he died a believer in Christ. He is survived in quantity and quality. Bob was born August 24th, 1932, to Ed and Josephine (Esauk) Wenninger. He was born into eternal life December 10, 2025. He spent the first twenty-one years of his life growing up on a small farm on the Oneida Reservation.
Bob graduated from Nicolet High School Class of 1950. Two years later he graduated with a teaching certificate. He later received a master’s degree in education.
Bob and Noreen Gilbert married in 1953 and had been married for 72 years. He served in the US Navy. Bob loved music and dancing with his wife. Bob and Noreen’s lives were enriched by the addition of seven children: Lauri, Steve, Gregg, Amy, Julie, Kip and Stacy.
He was teacher, a principal and a reading specialist, simultaneously working his 20-acre farm. Though he did retire from teaching, he never stopped working - Retiring allowed him to help his children with multiple projects at their homes and he was always there for neighbors to lend a helping hand. Bob volunteered for Meals on Wheels, American Red Cross and Knights of Columbus.
He formed many important friendships through his love of golf. Bob spent many hours in his workshop creating carvings for each child and grandchild with handwritten inspirational messages.
Bob is survived by his wife, Noreen, his seven children: Lauri, Steve (Carla), Gregg, Amy (Dan), Julie (John), Kip (Cathy) and Stacy, 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his brother Ron, his sister Rosemary, sister-in-law Gail and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bud (Pat), brother Jim, and sister and brother-in-law Jean and Mel.
