Ronald Wayne Wiglesworth, beloved son of Eugene and Wilma Wiglesworth, born October 31, 1949, passed away June 29, 2024. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Carole Burton Wiglesworth, and his siblings Cookie, Buzzy, and Pat.
Ronald's legacy lives on through his loving children: Jennifer Woods, Kimberly Wiglesworth, Travis Wiglesworth (Ashley), and Dustin Wiglesworth. He is also survived by his treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Alyssa Ryan (Patrick), Jordan Zimmerman, Audrey Wiglesworth, Ryan Wiglesworth, Joseph Wiglesworth, Lukas Wiglesworth, Blakely Ryan, Caroline Ryan, and Charlee Wiglesworth. Ronald is also mourned by his dear siblings Becky, Vickie, Kathy, Barbie, and June Bug.
Ronald found immense joy in coaching his children and grandchildren in baseball, a passion he held close to his heart. A fan of television and film, you could often find him in his spot on the couch watching old movies. When he was not watching movies, he enjoyed listening to Elvis. He was a dedicated supporter of Kentucky basketball, never missing a game on T.V., and a collector of coins, baseball cards, and at one time even classic cars.
Ronald served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage and dedication to his country. Following his military service, he made a career as a welder, a profession he excelled in throughout his life.
Ron attended regularly and was baptized at Mt. Eden Christian Church in
Lexington, Kentucky. He loved his church family and the lifelong friends he made there.
Above all, Ronald's greatest love was his family. He was known for his loyalty, reliability, and boundless love. Ronald's pride in his family was evident to all who knew him; he was always eager to share their achievements and successes with anyone who would listen or let him share a photo or video with them.
Ronald's warm heart and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends. Services for Ronald will be held on Tuesday, July 02, 2024 at 3:30 PM at The Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 01:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 463 East Main Street,
Lexington, Kentucky, 40507.
